Hello, my name is Carlos Hernandez, founder of 86 Campers, and I have been a server for over 15 years. While helping to open a new restaurant with a company I previously worked for, I realized that no company existed to cater to all of the service industry's needs. My coworkers and I were having trouble conveniently locating all of our equipment without having to order everything from multiple companies. I decided to establish my brand as a one-stop shop for the service industry. The life of a service industry worker is incredibly unique, and our experience differs greatly from most other workers. It is my genuine hope that my product designs capture that sentiment. Those of us who have been in the industry for a long period of time appreciate that the vast majority of us love what we do. Without a doubt, the staff at most food establishments is like family with its fair share of ups and downs. After all, we are often subjected to high-pressure situations together, and, through these tense moments, we see the best and worst of each other. If you're tough enough to deal with unpredictable nature of our work and its ups and downs, you learn to value the relationships you build with your coworkers. Being on the front line together, or being forced to deal with difficult customers and management, has a way of bringing people closer together. Unlike workers in most industries, our typical workdays are anything but mundane. Most of us probably feel like we have countless stories about our work -- ranging from the drama among coworkers to the Karens who would like to speak to our manager to request a refund because she felt that her side salad didn’t have enough pizzazz to it. Our unique experience and stories as service industry employees are very different than most people in other industries, and I sincerely hope my product designs embody that!
